If reports are to be believed, the airing of Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 6 is barely a month away. The show will be aired tentatively from September 7, a Friday. Though it was earlier assumed that Kaun Banega Crorepati will replaced quite a few prime time shows that are aired on weekdays on Sony Entertainment Television (SET), the makers of the show has now decided that the Kaun Banega Crorepati will be aired only during the weekends, thus avoiding the reshuffling or elimination of any other show on the channel. Earlier there were reports that the Sony bosses have decided to axe the show Saas Bina Sasuraal, which has been running for the past 18 months, in order to make way for Kaun Banega Crorepati, but now it seems that they have decided against it.
However, the airing of Kaun Banega Crorepati during the weekends means that it will occupy the slot that is currently held by singing reality show, Indian Idol 6.
As far as the competition that Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 6 will face is concerned, the stiffest competition will be from Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 5, a dance reality show which is being aired on Colors and has been enjoying quite high TRPs (Television Rating Points). However, what might work in favor of Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 6 is that Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 5 is nearing its finale and will be in its final leg into two or three weeks of Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 6.
Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 6 will also face serious competition from another dance reality show Dance Ke Superkids which is aired on Zee TV. Other shows which will jostle with Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 6 for viewers’ eyeballs are Teri Meri Love Stories and Arjun on Star Plus.
The bosses of Sony are not to keen to comment on the competition that Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 6 is likely to face and said that they are rather focusing on the quality of the show.
